Fantastic Book - With lots of curious tidbits!
By Rebecca Gunn
Mickey and the Gang looks pretty enough on the cover - but its easy to assume its just another Disney story compilation for kids, but its far more than thatThis book is a collection of all the Good Housekeeping pages Disney did in the 1930's to late 1940's. The pages in themselves may be considered kids stuff. But each poem page is accompanied by wonderful art done in-house by Disney for Good Housekeeping. Each page represents a short from that time released and even occasionally the odd canceled cartoon!Mr Gerstein has strived a lot to pack additional trivia into each and every page, each one has at least 1 or 2 pages dedicated to the story behind the short and page and various differences or character discussions. Due to access to the Disney Archives, Mr Gerstein has also been able to dig up info on cancelled shorts that were developed into Good Housekeeping pages due to longer development periods for each page and various curious tidbits such as a Tortoise and the Hare spin off comic serial printed in full and Press pack material for Big Bad Wolf.Perfect book for a Disney fan and could double as a good kids book too!
