Time gone by

With this book you are taken back to a completely different era, some may find the terms and observations slightly offending, but you must remember the age and priviledge,of the writer. Roosevelt,Ex president of the USA embarks on 1 of his great passions hunting and in Africa at this time and to the wealthy you had a utopia, most likely not to be seen again. He reminisces on the hunting trips he is taken on with a selection of well heeled influential friends, and in great detail records wildlife, habitats, and the communities living in, and around the ever changing landscapes as he travel over many miles, and many months persueing game .I lived in Africa for some time and recognise something of what he speaks ,although of course now it is a very different place still wild, still beautifull, but not as free as it was then. Overall if you like hunting wildlife nature and a country that was still very raw, I think you will enjoy this book I did although in places it can be a bit erksome, it will give you an insight not only to Africa but also to the inner man of a great president.

Non-starter

Turning the electronic pages here is not the version that arrived in the post. That version had no images, and the text was electronically copied into three narrow columns per page (the text height of which isn't the best for reading in that manner). It was as if a 3 course meal was pulped and placed before you in a bowl. Perhaps someone needs to think about presentation and expectations - my copy went the same way as the dish. Pick a 'normal' version, or return if unsuited.
