An excellent book. As this is a reprint of an old book, I was very surprised at the quality of the illustrations which are brilliant. Gibson's handling of his line work is some of the best you will see. Besides the Gibson Girls there are many other characters, both men and women. There are a few peculiarities worth pointing out. Hardly any of the pretty girls are smiling and there are even less laughing. many of them are looking rather 'snooty and superior'. I expect that was the fashion during that period. Never the less.they are very well drawn. Study the method of drawing the various features, i.e. lips, noses, mouths, hands, etc. and the different ways of treating clothes. See how the artist has drawn the shadows on the faces;Masterly. You can learn a lot by spending an hour or so copying some of them. Have fun.
