... 3 year old daughter to nursery - she really hated going in and clung to me like a limpet
By Mrs. Alex O'Neill
I was struggling with taking my 3 year old daughter to nursery - she really hated going in and clung to me like a limpet. It was getting to the point where the staff had to pull her off me so I could walk out and she would cry a lot, even though 5 minutes later she was absolutely fine.We read this book together a few times, including the night before she was due to go to nursery. Well, we haven't had a problem since, not once. She now loves going to nursery and skips through the door. This book was literally like magic!!

This really helped my then three year old when she started nursery, she was already aware of Llama Llama from some other books we'd read in the series, and it's just a really sweet book. Llama doesn't want to be involved in reading books or playing with the other kids, has a bit of a cry, and the other kids wheedle him into playing with them and he ends up having a brilliant time and when Mama Llama comes back he's all excited to show her his fun school and what he did - I definitely think that it resounded with my little girl. And at the end I see that the author dedicated it to her first one to go to school, which i thought was really sweet!

a great help
By shopafrolic
My six year old daughter suddenly developed a bit of a separation anxiety syndrome out of nowhere and clung on to me like a limpet at the school bell. I bought this and two or three other books that covered the topic in a fun and sensitive way and this was her favourite of them. I would like to get more in the llama llama series now as she enjoyed them so much.
